Rickoff Dentistry uses partial dentures and full dentures as a functional and cosmetic solution to replace one to all missing teeth.
Partials & Full Dentures
Dentures are used to replace multiple missing teeth. There are two main types: removable partial dentures and full dentures. As the name implies, partial dentures are worn to replace multiple missing teeth when some of the natural teeth are also present, whereas full dentures replace all of the teeth on an upper or lower jaw.
Both partial and full dentures are removable appliances that have prosthetic teeth built into a stable base designed to fit specifically and stably in a patient’s mouth.
The appliance(s) are worn throughout the day to restore both aesthetics and chewing efficiency. It is recommended that the denture is removed prior to bedtime and cleaned thoroughly to ensure the health of the teeth and tissue in the mouth. It is also especially important to maintain diligent at-home dental hygiene, as well as continuing dental prophylaxis appointments in order to ensure the long-term health and stability of the supporting tissue and/or remaining teeth.
Time is taken when designing and fabricating these appliances in order to make them as comfortable and aesthetic as possible. Patients can anticipate a handful of quick appointments that are necessary to make the partial and full dentures as well made as possible for the patient. The end goal is an appliance that is comfortable and restores the smile and functionality of the mouth.
